        A division of The Literacy Institute at VCU, the Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center (VALRC) strengthens Virginia’s adult education and literacy system through professional development, resources, and collaborative projects. VALRC provides face-to-face and online trainings for Virginia adult education teachers and program staff; manages the GED® Virginia website and GED® Helpline; and supports the development and expansion of the PluggedInVA career pathways program for adults.

        VLF LogoVirginia Literacy Foundation: In 2003, the Virginia Literacy Foundation and Virginia Commonwealth University partnered to create The Literacy Institute at VCU with VALRC as a division. The Foundation and VALRC work together to develop and conduct training programs to support community based literacy organizations across the Commonwealth.

        VCU Logo Virginia Commonwealth University: Founded in 1838, VCU is a major research university located in the heart of Richmond. It has a student enrollment of 31,242. The Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center, established in the mid-1980s, is housed in VCU’s School of Education under the Department of Teaching and Learning. The SOE, ranked 33rd among U.S. graduate education programs by U.S. News and World Report, offers a master's degree in adult learning.

        PROGRESS is Virginia's adult education and literacy newsletter. In this section you find the latest issue of PROGRESS.
